Sleeping cat

My cat is sleeping loads, looks sad if you know what I mean but eating a lot. I can't tell if he is poorly but he's not himself. Will ring the vets in the morning but just wondered if anyone could offer any ideas please? He's 1 and a half years old

Did the vet find out whether your cat is ill?

I didn't take him as the next morning he was eating and outside like normal. He is hiding a lot though but seems ok
