I'm so, so happy just now, I have not had a cat for nearly thirteen years, ever since we emigrated to Australia. Our last one was too old and her health was not good enough for the flight, so she was adopted and I have never really got over it.
Anyway, this morning I picked up our new family member, she is 11 weeks old, and quite the most perfect little thing. She has already had a drink,a little bit to eat and used her litter tray!
Here is Ginny -

Could you not have held of your emigration to see your cat live the final years of its life with you? If you desire to move again will you leave this one?

Weezol · 05/02/2019 03:03

Absolutely lovely! My boy beast looked about twice her size at 11 weeks but he's a big bugger. Understand why she a collar but do take care that it's a quick release one - others on this site will be able to advise better but meanwhile, congratulations! Smile

MrsCatE · 05/02/2019 03:08

For God's sake Justagirl a lot of assumptions there. Wind your neck in - the OP could have been a minor when her parents decided to emigrate and the original cat was not abandoned. FFS.

Justagirlwholovesaboy · 05/02/2019 03:24

Or not @MrsCatE you could be making assumptions too, isn’t this what we we without facts, we choose empathy, you for the human, me for the cat. Doesn’t this make me a bad person or just someone with the opposite thinking to you?

Smotheroffive · 05/02/2019 03:46

I also have feeling for rehoming an elderly dcat, but we don't know the circumstances

tiddlyipom · 05/02/2019 04:09

Well thank you to those who have posted their congrats.(I have replaced the collar with a self release one😋)

It took me thirteen years to get another cat, it broke my heart to leave my cat behind but she was rehomed to a family that she knew, who were cat nuts too.
I didn't do it without exploring all the options.
Did I feel like the world's worst person at the time - yes, absolutely.
Did that post by Justagirlwholovesaboy make me feel like shit -yes, absolutely.
