I am thinking of offering a home to a beautiful black and white cat, she belongs to a little girl. She has to move with her Dad and they are unable to have pets in their new rented accommodation. I don't want her to go into an animal shelter and would like to give her a home but not sure if this is sensible!

This cat is an only cat and does not go out.

I already have 2 cats. One laid back ginger female and one sleek slim tabby, I think she is part Bengal. These two tolerate each other and have play fights. They go around with each other in the garden a bit but generally just rub along without interacting very much. My tabby can be temperamental and only lets me stroke her when she feels like it!

Can anyone give me advice, I am thinking of bringing her home at half term (dh doesn't know it yet!), and at first keeping her in one room with a litter tray and food then after my other two have got used to the knowledge there is another cat in the house introduce them.

You can't exactly run it by the others so the only way you know is to try it. What will you do if it doesn't work out? Will the cat be considered yours at that point?
