loo training and having a wash!

So, I have finally caved and got the cat toilet trainer, anyone else?

We are on orange, but, the poo is always on the stone floor next to the loo and the pee in the tray that has the hole in the middle. I can deal with it that way round as its so easy to just pick up the poo which isn't messy or smelly, and just need a piece of tissue and straight down the loo.

I just cant progress to the next level I don't feel, without the poo being done on the loo, can I?

I do wonder though whether its something to do with less litter, so when its only the ring arounthe loo there will be pee and poo straight down the loo!!

Also, cat washing? I have just been thoroughly washed by my dcat! Clearly I'm filthy Confused

One hand, then the other, all round the fingers and the across the top, very thorough!

Are you talking about training the cat to use toilet as opposed to litter tray? I know it's not something that cat behaviorists recommend.

I wouldn't... it's not natural for cats to toilet that way, they like to dig and bury their waste.

What you're doing is just for human convenience, not in the cat's best interest at all...

Yes MrsCatE cat has adopted peeing on the loo really easily (using the orange litter container with hole in the middle).

viccat its become a problem because dcat literally dumps on top of anything, middle of shared footpath with next door where there are little ones walking (potentially in it), and dcat will not go out in cold, and will not pee or poo in little unless it has no previous scent, so was peeing andnpooing elsewhere which is beyond me to keep up with. Dcat now routinely pees on the loo, but just pooingnnext to it. If I put something next to loo for pooingin, it will not get used and poo will appear elswewhere, including 'on' my bed Confused.

This is the best our situation has ever been, as I can rely on dcat to contain its weeing and pooing to the bathroom, which is a massive step forward. Dcat much prefers to be out, but is summer dcat only, so winter is always an issue and the ddogs consider dcat poo such a delicacy and treat!! So gross! Plus don't want dcat defacating outside around neighbours areas where there are young DC, because its never ever buried dcat quite proud of poos left for all to see

I don’t want to have to wait for the cat to finish before I can go!

It seems very clean, but I don’t think it’s natural for them. My friend is a crazy cat lady, and she gave up with it. She couldn’t get the cat to poo in the loo.

Oh, maybe that an issue with it, the not poking in the loo then.

Ha! Well we haven't yet crossed in the bathroom, and there are a few of us. Dcat always seems to go about an hour after we're all up, when the bathrooms empty

I think a crazy cat lady. Is someone like my friend who has multiple cats. She’s had her hair dyed to look like cat stripes and fosters cats. She seems to prefer them to humans,

I wanted one of those and dh said I was being a saddo! At one point ours was costing £20 a month in litter.

Cat poo should not be flushed at all because toxoplasma survives sewage treatment and is harmful to aquatic life.

Another poo update!! Getting excited...its all comin together now.

I've been on those threads about only putting human poo down loos, but bearing in mind everything off the street goes down the drains, which would include cat poo, all manner of bacteria fox poo bird poo, and basically everything outside including rotting animals. If its not ok to go down loo its certainly not ok to put into landfall which goes straight into the water table untreated. Anyway look on your water authority website. Ours is fine.

That’s what I was thinking. Things in landfill will end up back in streams untreated and in the soil. At least the water authorities treat the water. I flush cat poo and human poo.
