Cat and blood pressure tablets etc

Our cat was diagnosed with high blood pressure in November and put on blood pressure medication. Seemed ok for a while. She also has kidney problems and recently started dragging her left back leg and not using it properly. Been to the vet several times and they said it’s not a stroke, clot or nerve problems. All checked. This week she has stopped pooing. Not poo since Monday so another trip to the vet. Vet said not much in her bowel and to take her back Monday. She is peeing ok. Now though she seems exhausted. Vet said to change her to wet food which we have but she can’t eat anything with lumps in it so are giving her the pate ones. Even eating wears her out. She also has developed a cough/sneezy thing when she eats. Again the vet can’t find anything wrong. I’m wondering if the blood pressure tablets would cause the cough and fatigue. The vet said it wouldn’t but I know it can in humans. Any thoughts ? She will soon be 18 so we are keeping her as comfortable as possible. Worried as her brother stopped eating and pooing and then a week later we had to have him put to sleep because he had cancer everywhere. Costing a fortune to keep going to the vet
but I don’t mind that.

Has she had a scan of her heart?

Just read that she's 18, in the case she may just be slowly fading away and I'd just make her comfortable. Abs soil her until the time comes.

The vet said there was no point in doing any intervention because of her age snd other health problems, she is having a good sleep at the moment. I think you are right and she is slowly fading. She doesn’t seem to be suffering at all. Hoping that she might just go to sleep and not wake up. She has had some water today but has hardly eaten anything . So sad.
