Cat snot

My new cat sometimes has hard stuff in his (cute) pink nose. Could it be dried snot? Or is he snorting soil?

He carries the cat flu virus (seems entirely well in himself) if that matters.

My childhood cat used to have little black bits in his nose. My current cats are unfortunately a little more liquid! As I find out frequently.

My dads cat carried cat flu, his was like a thick green runny snot not crusty at all x
