Held hostage by small cat

I came home this evening to find a small cat on the doorstep. She followed me in and I assumed she'd want to nose around then head off. But no. Ive put her outside three times and each time she's doubled back and marched into my flat. It's really cold out so I don't want to turf her out. Equally I don't want to steal a neighbour's cat so I'm not going to feed her. I was thinking maybe I'd sleep with the back door ajar so she can wander off when she pleases? DP is thrilled to learn we'll be sleeping in Arctic conditions, poor man.
Is there a better solution?

Kitty looks snug as a bug in a rug.

So. What's her name?

mvcatton · 26/01/2019 09:59

Her name is Dora the Explorer and Mr Over My Dead Body is asleep, holding her in his arms.
All so very predictable..!

Congratulations, you are now officially a cat owner slave Smile

MitziK · 26/01/2019 21:23

Did you ask CHT if they knew whether she's been spayed?

Dora might just be very practical about matters of winter and houses missing a coating of fur and some mouse gut decoration - but she might be thinking of the future in her housing choices.

Mr OMDB might be about to become a grandpa.

Grin our two worship the ground DH walks on... me, my uses are buying endless supplies of cat litter, cat litter, canned tuna, poached chicken and of course dreamies Oh, and opening the patio doors

Dora’s fallen on her paws ♥️

Brilliant, you'll wonder how you'd lived so long without a cat in your life. My colleague has a cat called Dora the explorer. Nickname; Dozzler

Fluffy, maybe I should complain then because the cat is also dh's screensaver!

In fact I've temporarily changed mine to the 3ds, because I felt quite fleetingly guilty! However, the ds who's still at home also has the cat as his screensaver!
I'm sure if the cat had a phone, I'd be on his, though Grin I'm kidding myself. It'd be one of his trophy mice

Harebell so sorry about your cat. I know just what you mean. It's heartbreaking, and you feel you can't face that happening all over again. I'm sure another cat will come into your life when you're ready Flowers

Fluffycloudland77 · 27/01/2019 09:45

Watcher The cat would have itself as it’s screen saver. With one of you carefully cropped out.

WatcherintheRye · 27/01/2019 09:59

GrinGrin Come to think of it, you're so right, Fluffy! Never thought I'd fall for a narcissist!

chemenger · 27/01/2019 13:39

Harebell when I had both my cats pts in quick succession I started fostering cats for Cat Protection. It’s been fantastic to have a succession of cats in the house and watching them move on to loving forever homes, all the joy of having a cat without the ultimate heartbreak.
