Nightmares??!!

I've had cats for most of my life, but none like current big cat. He's not like any cat I've ever had. He's not like a cat full stop.

So he may have overdone it on the food over Christmas, and could probably stand to lose a few pounds. But he's having nightmares? He'll be sleeping then his tail starts twitching, then the legs, then his whiskers, then he jumps off the sofa, does the I meant to do that look, walks around every chair in the room and settles back beside me.

He's done this two to three times a night for a few weeks. It seems to be increasing or I'm watching for it more. Anyone else had a cat with nightmares? Could there be a link between his extra girth and the nightmares?

Mine has them where he twitches and cries in his sleep. I wake him up and cuddle him and he holds my finger with his paw. Also not like a standard cat Grin

Maybe that's the link? They're more advanced than regular cats!

Mine sucks an invisible dummy in his sleep.

Fluffy my cat does this regularly as well.

I know dogs dream, it's really sweet watching them with their legs twitching as they "run" in their sleep, so maybe he's dreaming?

Boycat can wake with a bit of a start sometimes, which has led to him falling off the arm of the chair and off the windowsill - but he's definitely a bit "special" in that way Grin
