Squinting kitten + boogers

So my teenage (9 months) kitten for the last couple of days has some problem in her eye. I’m not sure if it’s eye boogers from sleep or something like conjunctivitis? It’s something because she seems to be squinting in her left eye but not her left. I’ve tried wiping it with paper towel but it’s not made things better. Only got rid of the boogers but they might have been because she’s just woken up

She’s been fully vaccinated at 9 and 12 weeks old. And she has never been in close contact with other cats and she’s not been outside since October. Her appetite is the same.

Should I do anything before calling the vets on Monday?

My kitten had white discharge in her eye when she was tiny. The vet gave me eye drops and it cleared up in tow days.

Kitchen paper might be a bit rough, could you use cotton wool soaked in warm water and wipe just once each time. Maybe she has scratched it.

It had improved the next day so I thought nothing of it but suddenly she woke up with it being worse and she's rubbing it a lot. She's well in herself and it's odd. I'm booking an appointment for the morning because it's a lot redder and angrier than it was. It's possible she's scratched it or got something in her eye but she's not letting me see though.
