What haven’t I considered for my kitten

Kitten is being collected on Thursday, (. I haven’t had a cat since I was a child and have never had a kitten. We have a box room next to the sitting room that I’ve set up to be the kittens. I’m debating with myself whether to put him in there when he arrives with the door open or shut? Also thinking maybe I could put a cat flap on the box room door so he can come and go and still have quiet if he wants.

Dc’s will be at my dm’s for the first 2 days so it won’t be too noisy for him. I have a bed, a cat tree with scratching post, a load of toys, the lady giving me the cat is giving me a blanket, should I get more? I also have a litter tray which is pretty close to the one he has already and lots of wood pellet litter. Lots of the same food and biscuits that he’s used to.

What have I forgotten? What else can I do to make him feel safe? I’m sooo excited to have him come and live with us. I’ve wanted a cat for about 15 years and it’s finally happening! Hopefully we’ll get him a playmate soon if we ever get approved by the local cat rescue.

What age is he? He might be a little young to leave his mum?

I invested in a water fountain - my car drinks from it quite regularly and plays with it all the time!

Get him chipped asap and neutered as soon as your vet will do it. - even if you plan to keep him as an indoors cat, they have a habit of getting out

He’s 11 weeks old, 12 weeks on Saturday. He’s out of the cupboard and I can hear him crashing around doing something downstairs, I’m trying to get dc to sleep so I can escape and investigate.

Vets is booked for Friday and we have a weeks insurance to cover us until then. I hadn’t considered a water fountain, that sounds like a great idea.

Our cat loves her water fountain. She's always drinking from it and I've caught her swishing her paws in it more than once!
