Litter recommendations please?

I have two cats. They are older now for various reasons don't go out as much.

So I'm back to needing to provide inside litter trays.

Can anyone recommend a nice clumping not stinky litter? Ideally fine seems to be preferable?

I have used Sainsbury clumping litter for years - cats have never objected and it keeps the smell down.

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 28/12/2018 19:01

We use Felipure and his lordship seems to approve - he comes in from the garden especially to use it!

Sainsbury's ultra clumping is fantastic. I kid you not, I don't think it will ever need to be fully cleaned out. I am careful to remove every bit of doings every time mind.

Intersand classic is brilliant.

Thanks all. Annoyingly Sainsbury's is the place right out of my way to get too. Boo!

Morrissons own brand of clumping litter is as good as the Sainsbury’s one. Also Wilkos own brand. I do find them all dusty though.

Melstarrynight · 29/12/2018 14:02

Oko clumping wood based litter. I buy it online and it never smells like the fullers earth ones do.

GiantKitten · 29/12/2018 14:23

Cats best from zooplus (although it’s changed slightly & goes to dust quicker than it used to). No smell at all even with 3 cats using it (in covered tray with filter)

Zooplus is also good for cat food, so it’s easy to rack up £29 for free delivery Smile

This is the favourite litter tray. We also have 2 the same but smaller, but they much prefer the big tall one

Morrissons own brand of clumping litter is as good as the Sainsbury’s one. I've not tried the Morrison's one but Sainsbury's do two, the regular one which isn't any good, then this ultra clumping one which is totally different/better.

EachandEveryone · 29/12/2018 23:44

The ultra clumping one.

hartof · 29/12/2018 23:47

Pets at home breeders celect is all we've ever used

Vitalogy · 30/12/2018 05:58

Is this the one EachandEveryone? Would be handy as Morrison's is closer by, plus this is a bit cheaper.

Yes try it I think it’s £4

Vitalogy · 30/12/2018 15:23

Yes, I think I'll give it a go, thanks. £3.50 for 5L, the Sainsbury's one is £4.20 5L.

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 01/01/2019 08:31

This is going to sound a weird question but what are the clumps like? When Harry has wee the one we use at the moment forms one solid lump. Sainsbury’s website says the ultra clumping forms lumps, sounding as if it breaks down into more than one.

Thanks!

Vitalogy · 01/01/2019 08:43

PinkSparklyPussyCat Yeah the ultra clump is actual clumps. If the wee is left a while it is slightly more solid and better to remove but even if you do it straight away it's still ok, although our cat sometimes does a long puddle other than a round one so does break in half if removed straight after. I'm going to try the Morrison's one to see but this Sainsbury's ultra clumping is going to take some beating. I know way too much about the workings of cat litter Smile

Inspired by this thread I bought the Sainsburys one. Hurray I thought - less smell and fewer changes than my non clumping! Like an idiot I didn't think about introducing it gradually and my reward was the cat jumping on the bed in the middle of the night and pissing everywhere! Happy New Year! (slopes off to launderette with duvet)

fenneltea · 02/01/2019 19:40

Professional Classic ultra clumping from zooplus or bitiba for my lot.

Vitalogy · 02/01/2019 22:53

Oh dear SmellTheGlove Although how are we to know the workings of the cat mind Confused. Expensive business that duvet cleaning at the laundrette, was there the other week with cat sick on mine, liquid soaked through Envy £13 I think it was Shock that wasn't to dry it either!
