Feeding time when one cat is greedy?

If you have more than one cat, how do you feed them and make sure all get their share and no one eats too much?

I have five cats. I feed the eldest separately behind a closed door as she eats a renal diet. I also give the kittens an extra meal behind a closed door because they need to eat more than others while they are growing.

For other meal times for the four though I'd prefer to feed them in the same room at the same time... My middle boy (about 18 months old) is really greedy though and gobbles up his food quickly and then pushes the others out of the way to eat theirs. He is getting a bit tubby.

They get two meals a day, no grazing. (Tubby boy would just eat it all up if I left a bowl of dry out or something.)

I'm having this problem too. One of mine is a grazer but Cheddar is a piglet. At the minute I'm trialling automatic feeders to feed at set times. As I work 12 hour shifts so they have to wait a long time if Cheddar scoffs it. Seems to be working quite well and the night waking has reduced.

Special, (ridiculously expensive) micro chip activated bowls, I believe they’re called Surefeed.

I tried them. I could t work it out, let alone the cats!
