re: worming kittens/ gap between tablets

We've just adopted two kittens. They're adorable and settled instantly, so all's good. The RSPCA gave me a worming tablet for them both, plus anti flea. Yesterday was the day they suggested the worming tablet was due, so I did what I always did for my old cat and crushed the tablets into their food. Both rejected it.. I'd just assumed as my old cat didn't that they'd be fine too. So... now I have no worming tablets. I have already registered with a vet, but they say they have no non-emergency appointments this side of Christmas and they're not allowed to give me any pills without seeing them. Does anyone know if it will be okay for the kittens if I wait a week/ 10 days to get the next tablets? They're 4 months old and have been regularly wormed since birth.
