The good side of cat rescue

Just saw a lovely Facebook update from the CP centre I volunteer at and a cat who had appeared difficult to home has been homed! She's been in care about 4 and a half months (a long time for the area). Also as a 9 year old not so quick to be homed.
She had been at a different centre for a while, moved to ours about 6 weeks ago to take up residence in the office. She gradually came out of herself after being quite aggressive (due to being scared) and got to like the staff-sitting on their laps and stopping work happening! I met her but she was very unsure of me. I could see yes there was a lovely cat in there.
Anyway the right person has come along and taken her home. She may be scared for a while but I'm so pleased she's got a proper home!
So if you're looking to adopt don't overlook the less friendly cats.

My Bengal lad was so shy when we first saw him but literally blossomed the minute we got him home. Total love bug.

He was bought not adopted so I’ll get a rescue Bengal when the time comes to atone.

I still can't believe that Fatty and Snorg had no interest apart from me. They were so timid and shy at first. I won the lottery with them!

Some cats are just so scared in adoption/rescue centres which to be fair isn't the ideal nvironment for them but in theory it is only supposed to be short lived.
Toddler I didn't realise your girls were so overlooked and they became Mumsnet celebs!

My poor pair spent almost a whole year at the rescue, as they were so shy and would hide in their bedroom if anyone came to view them. Who wants black adult cats who hide away all the time? TBH though the colour and age didn't put me off (I was actually looking for elderly cats) the shyness did a bit, but Girlcat claimed me with The Paw so I had no choice but to take them home.

It's taken a long time, but Boycat especially is a total cuddle monster and even Girlcat is wanting fusses & tummy stroking nowadays.

@Vinorosso74 their Facebook post said "I can't believe these two have had no interest" that did it. Smitten!

My two were terrified of their own shadows back in September. It's a long slow road but boycat now jumps up on my bed for tummy rubs and they both wait for me to come out of the bathroom at night so that I'll sit on the stairs and play with them at 2am. Which I do.
