Ndn's cat.

Single man lives next door and he has a cat (Tilly). She is very shy if you even look at her she runs away. He works very long hours. Doesn't get home till about 8pm.
Tilly has access to a shed during the day, but tries to sit in the sun if it's out. Many times she looks frozen. I feel so sorry for her.
Even DH who is not a cat lover prefers dogs is worried for her health we think she is about 7.
At the moment she is sitting on our front window ledge in the sun.
I don't know what I can do as she won't let us near.

Can you make her a little cat house for her to sleep in in your garden?

I will start leaving our shed open as well with a blanket inside. I just wish she would come into our house by the fire.

I’d imagine a lot of cats live with the neighbours during working hours.

Hot water bottle under a towel so it's not too hot for her my neighbours cat used to love it

I had this with a big old fluffy stray that I wanted to make sure had somewhere to go during a freezing winter. He was very nervous at first. NO TOUCHING.
I started by leaving tiny scraps of food, warm chicken being a particular fav! around my back door and just inside the breakfast room. He would follow the trail and get use to the sent in the house and could feel the warmth from the heaters. I always left the door ajar for him to go back out again so he never felt trapped, that was the key to him gaining our trust.

A week or so of this and his paws were well in under the table. And is now one of the most affectionate gentle cats I've known. Who loves to be stroked. Good luck.👍

You can get a heat pad on amazon - about a tenner. You pop it in the microwave for ten minute and it stays warm for about twelve hours. It’s rock hard but I icovered it in a blanket and my kitten cub led up to it in the colder weather (inside).

I have a similar problem with my NDN's cat. She is very rarely let into their house and, unlike my two massive ginger boys who have thick fluffy coats, she is tiny with a thin, smooth coat. She always looks freezing and desperately scratches at our catflap. I think she's hungry too. Well I cannot watch her any longer and for the last week I have let her in overnight as I'm genuinely worried she will freeze to death. She may also have had a sachet or two of food 😬

I’d have done the same Ice, if you love your cat you look after it properly.

Couldn't agree more Fluffy! I know there are people on here who will disagree but I just can't sit back and do nothing anymore.

That is very kind of you ice. I don’t know why people get cats if they aren’t going to look after them.

Tilly is a smooth coat cat and very thin built. She is not left hungry as food is left in the shed.
She just looks cold.
