Mental Ragdoll Kitten

I found and bought a Ragdoll kitty for my Aspie daughter for emotional support

Don't get me wrong she loves him dearly but he is not the serene kitty we thought he would be.

He's now 4 months old, eating loads, sleeping little and behaving like a lunatic.

He's even pissing off our battle hardened Moggie!

What to do?

You know he's a kitten, right?

It will calm down. Our raggie is the most laid back animal I have ever come across but was a right pest as a baby! Give it a year

Err he's a kitten of course he's going to have mad times as well as sleepy times no matter what breed he is.

Perhaps it would be a good idea to buy a cuddly toy that is very similar in looks to the kitten that your DC can cuddle the toy version when the kitten isn't in the mood?

They are a crazy breed as kittens, but they normally calm down to be fair.

I don't have a ragdoll but I do have a kitten. We got him in June and he was mental!! Literally had zoomies all the time jumping everywhere! He's nearly 7 months now and a different kitten! So calm and playful in a nice way.

Has he been neutered? This was the changing point for our boy.

Never had a kitten before!

Our Moggy- our first cat- wandered into our garden starving and a bag of bones around 4 years ago.

We are cat/kitten novices

He's just a kitten. We need a kittypic though just to be sure.

My rag doll was so full of energy as a kitten and so quick! She was like a ninja. It did take more than one year in our case for her to calm down, she still has moments now at 8 yo. However, she has always been a very loving cat 🐱 we wouldn't be without her.

That’s normal, have you had him castrated yet? It calms them right down. I wanted to get dh done but he wasn’t keen.

Yep that's him, moves really fast and pounces/hunts anything that moves, including the moggy! Like a whirlwind!

No. He's only 4 months. His breeder and vet recommended neutering at 6 months.

My rag doll lily isn’t typical of the breed AT all! She’s a feisty madam who isn’t keen on being cuddled and defiantly has her own mind. We do love her but she’s a madam

They are just like any other kittens only bigger. Mine was a little beast :) He is 15 months now and mainly a big gorgeous snuggle bunny but he still has mad moments.

Play with him lots to wear him out, mine loves the feather on a wand toys, scrunched up foil balls and his kickeroo.

Give him time to be a kitten, mine is now a massive support for me and has really helped my anxiety x
