My lovely boy is 9 months old, nearly 10. He's neutered, he's very very needy ( which I don't mind of course ) and follows me room to room, always has to be with me, if I go to the toilet and shut the door he meows outside the door until I'm done etc and is ALWAYS sat on me.

In the last few days every time he jumps up and sits on me, his back legs were shaking and I thought he was just losing his balance and struggling to stay where he was until I realised he was HUMPING ME! He kneads on my stomach or my chest and just starts manically humping, what on Earth do I do? Yesterday when I got him off there was a wet patch on my tshirt Confused

please help! what do I do every time he does it? Tell him off? And what do I do long term to get him to stop? Thanks

Oh dear have you spoken to the vets where you had him done.

Morph used to do this sometimes. To my head in the middle of the night!!! Trust me nothing quite beats the realisation that a cat is humping your head!

He also used to hump Bear in the Big Blue House..a big furry toy which started singing when humped. We eventually binned Bear.... (unlike my head!)

He went through periods of humping then forgot about it for a while. No idea how to stop it though!

My neutered cat plays with himself all the time... we try and distract him when he is doing it, but sometimes he just carries on. I didn't even know cats could do that! I think you'll just have to immediately pull him off you and ignore him, so that he learns it's not acceptable behaviour and won't get him any attention.

One of mine does exactly same thing
He treads an£ then his back legs go
Ears back and wee face concentrated. I can’t pat him as it seems he is concentrating
I asked vet
She said he is self soothing 😂

Both of mine do it - anything soft and fleecy is perved on. One of them likes an audience, he drags the object of affection into your eye-line and tries to make eye contact. Sad

Lets just say I regretted buying a fleece onesie.

My old boy used to do that... Cushions and pillows were not safe in my house! I would just pop him on the floor or redirect his 'attention' to something else (washable)... Mine sometimes got quite cross if I interrupted his mojo-best to stop him as soon as you realise he's doing it!

hahah glad I'm not the only one! I've recently started working full time and think he's become a bit stressed ( DP is always home but I think I'm his " person " ). I ordered one of those feliway plug ins, it arrived today and within half an hour he completely changed, hasn't humped all evening and is back to just innocently sleeping on my lap.

All week he'd been ignoring me and avoiding strokes unless it was to hump me but now he's back to being needy, minus the awkward humping!
