My 2 year old cat (Bengal X) has suddenly lost a layer of fur from the base of her tail. Literally just appeared without it, no sign of having shed it whilst grooming. It seems only to be the sleek top layer of fur. She has downy fur left - so no skin is exposed. She is otherwise in rude health.
She does regularly squeeze under next door's fence and various other tight spots, and her collar is also frayed. Does this sound like she's rubbed against something, or is this one for the Vet? Looks just like someone has shaved a patch of her top coat. Any ideas?
