I'm so worried, he's 9 months and has been going out since 6 months. I let him out at 7.30 last night and he normally returns about 9.30 at which point I lock the catflap and go to bed.

He hasn't been back at all Sad. He is microchipped, what do I do now? I'm really so worried as he doesn't venture far normally it's so out of character. I've let my neighbours know to keep an eye out but what is the next step? I'm so very upset.

Leave contents of dustbag from hoover outside, leaflet local area asking people to look in garages and sheds, go out late calling him when quiet. Good luck

Our cat went missing for ten days recently, we left her details at local vets, searched the local Facebook groups, asked neighbours to check their shed and even went for a walk round with two very sad kids.

The little bugger strolled in ten days later without a bloody care in the world!

Hopefully he's just off exploring and returns soon.

Definitely try garages. My childhood cat accidentally got locked in a neighbour's garage for days. He went on to live a long and glorious life with us. Good luck!

Has your cat come home yet op?

ShowerTheHorse · 12/10/2018 09:23

Hi thankyou so much for all your suggestions but he came home last night around 11.30!

The little bugger wasn't wet or anything so we think he was trapped somewhere but he was starving! He's had lots of cuddles today and last nightSmile. Thanks again.

Thrilled for a happy outcome for once! X

Yay!

FWIW, our male 1 year old cat does this once every fortnight on average and he started doing it round the age yours is now. We've stopped worrying! He eats a huge amount when he finally turns up so I don't think anyone is feeding him, he's just a roamer. He's neutered so he's not even got shagging as an excuse!

Current theory is that he's doing short courses at cat college. He turned up tonight suddenly able to push doors open when he couldn't before. He's not that bright bless him.
