Day 55....She's still missing...

Harlexx · 11/10/2018 04:56

There have been no sightings, no phone calls from the posters, nothing from the facebook posts, no remains found by us or the council(and we have been looking)....NOTHING!!!!!!!!!! We've looked everywhere. I even peed in a field because 1 video said to, that's the kinda sh#t i'm willing to do to get her back. If i knew walking around naked would help then i'd burn all my clothes. Any lead or direction we've had are from psychic facebook pages who all say different things! (free of charge, no money involved) but they've all lead to nothing. Had a conversation with a woman who knows about tracking them, she narrowed somethings down but not really. If someone took her in/stole her i will lose my sh#t. At this rate it could be someone alone and dying and i wouldn't give a f#ck. I'm getting the police on them. If i saw her through a window , it'd take everything i have left not to storm through their house like a one man swat team. If cutting a limb or two off would get her back i'd do it. I'd do literally anything. I'm desperate and miserable.

Gosh I mean this very kindly, but if might be time to accept that you probably won’t find her Sad I know that’s difficult but I can’t see how this is good for your mental health. I would be the same as you but I’d need people to tell me to stop. Flowers

SummerRayne17 · 11/10/2018 05:17

I'm really sorry to hear your baby is still missing. This happened to me and despite intensive searches, calls to council/local vets and reward posters, my boy was never found and it's heartbreaking. I will always miss him. I think he was stolen and taken to another area.

Keep reposting Facebook appeals and ask neighbours to check sheds too in case she got trapped in.

Wishing you good luck Thanks

ifonly4 · 11/10/2018 14:39

OP, so sorry to hear this, I can't imagine what you're going through. Was she microchipped?

Harlexx · 11/10/2018 14:58

She's chipped, neutered, everything and I'll never stop looking, no matter how long or the outcome, I'll stop once we get her.

Want2beme · 11/10/2018 16:13

That's really tough OP. The stress really takes it out of you. No luck with local rescues? I know she's chipped, but you never know. She is beautifulFlowers

Mightybanhammer · 11/10/2018 18:43

I am so very sorry. What a beautiful girl.

LanguidLobster · 11/10/2018 19:08

It's horrible OP, she is so lovely.

You've done all you can for now but don't give up hope.

Feel for you.

Rudgie47 · 11/10/2018 21:19

I'm sorry your going through this OP but have heart the chances are your cat is fine. One of mine vanished and went missing for a year.He was only found when a woman wanted to take him home because he was hanging round a local hotel, her mum put him on Facebook and another lady scanned him and I got him back.
He was dirty but had only lost 1kg, he was a mile and 1/2 from my house.
Get another cat in the meantime and then you will have two if she does come back. Cats do this a lot, wander its part of them I'm afraid.

Lovethetimeyouhave · 11/10/2018 21:39

I say the chances are split, I had a brother and sister go missing two days apart, the boy cat to this day hasn't returned but the girl came back after 4 months!!!!!!!

Harlexx · 12/10/2018 00:38

Rudgie47 Including her i have 6 cats and 2 dogs but she's the baby, my baby. I live with my parents and sister so they're all technically family pets except her and one of the dogs, there both mine. I love them all and i'd be distraught if it happened any the other but as i said she's my baby. She's done it before, the disappearing act but only for a week. It's 8 weeks now..Despite all the animals still in the house, it feels empty without her..It's the not knowing!! I've lost pets before, 1 to old age and 2 to accidents, i'd argue this is worse!! At least the others i knew what happened! :( I've got posters ready to be mailed tomorrow to every vet in the county and beyond in case someone brings her. Been going door to door with mini posters too with a reward included so if someones got her lets hope they want money more than her.

PineapplePower · 12/10/2018 00:55

You need to take care of yourself so you can continue the search. If you aren’t well, you will be less effective. Keep up the FB posts and put up posters in any public area. I’d even pass out flyers to neighbors in a certain radius (so much info online about other things you can do)

If it helps, I found my cat after 100 days missing, no confirmed sightings. So she could still be out there, you just don’t know either way and I know your pain. Keep strong.

LucheroTena · 12/10/2018 10:43

Do you know where she went last time op? Sympathies, it must be awful. Mine only went for a few days and it was hellish.

ifonly4 · 12/10/2018 14:18

Are your microchip contact details up o date?

Which county are you in?

fenneltea · 12/10/2018 14:25

If you contact Animal Search UK they have specialist teams that can help you to search and distribute her details nationwide. It's not unknown for a cat to be transported accidentally in a delivery van, and there are stories of cats turning up after months/years missing. I hope she turns up for you, the not knowing is hellish.

Aprilislonggone · 12/10/2018 14:28

Op our tortie went awol for 6 months. Found her sitting under a tree at the local shops!!
Never give up.

Harlexx · 14/10/2018 04:58

Having a bit of a meltdown right now and i can say this with certainty, i've lost 3 pets before 1 dog to old age and 2 cats in accidents(both went missing for 2 weeks before they were found) and having her missing for more than 8 weeks with not a scrap of news IS WORSE THAN THE GRIEF OF ALL 3 PUT TOGETHER!!!!!!! Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad The only psychic (free of charge. no money scam)that has said anything that made any sense indicates that she's off on a hunting trip like she's done before (her longest was a week) I can't understand that if she is doing it, why has she been gone so f#ckin long! Sad It's been horrendous weather lately, we've looked everywhere, i just want to know if she is away by her own free will then why hasnt she come home at least for a day or 2?! If someone has nicked her on the other hand i will find them and i will put them in jail for theft if its the last thing i do, no one nicks MY CAT and gets away with it Angry Angry Angry Angry

OP posts:
fenneltea · 14/10/2018 08:57

I understand completely that it's far worse when they're missing than when you know where they are, as it has happened to me. I also understand your anger.

I do think though that it won't be helping right now, and your energies are best spent in continuing to search for her. As you've said yourself, there can be numerous reasons for hetr not returning; she may have been chased out of her territory and become lost.

If you do discover she has been stolen, then bear in mind you would need to actually prove it, and with cats that is very difficult to do when they are outdoor, independant creatures.

I really think the best thing is publicising far and wide and 'if' someone has taken her in then they may not realise she is being looked for; elderly people especially won't necessarily have internet access or know what to do with a hungry lost cat. They may not be intentionally 'stealing'.

Did you contact Animal Searchuk? Also the local press, posters in shops/supermarkets and distributing far and wide on the internet. I hope you hear soon.

fenneltea · 14/10/2018 08:59

Also, are her chip details up to date? It's much easier to reunite cats and owners if they are,

Harlexx · 14/10/2018 16:20

Chip details up to date I triple checked, my mum is doing the animal search UK bit, and I can prove she's Mine easily. I have her vet things, I have 1000s of pictures of her from when we got her to when she went missing, I can give the number of the breeder who can say that she's mime, you name it I've got it.

OP posts:
fenneltea · 14/10/2018 17:03

Good that the chip details are up to date, but I don't think that proving she's yours would be an issue, it would be proving the theft that would be the problem and whether the police cared enough to prosecute sadly.

Anyway, that's by the by as we don't even know if anybody does have her, fingers crossed there's news soon.

Harlexx · 14/10/2018 20:33

Trying not to get my hopes up buuuuut THERE'S BEEN A(possible) SIGHTING! Guy phoned saying he got a leaflet and had seen her on friday and we texted him another pic and he's pretty sure it was her! If it is then we've been looking in the wrong place the whole time, we've been looking in the fields not in the town ..... thing is, the bit he seen her at is within a cats hearing range from our house.... I'm sceptical but hopeful at the same time, fingers, toes, arms, leg, tongue, paws crossed!

OP posts:
LIVIA999 · 14/10/2018 20:42

My cat went missing for six weeks and just turned up one day. You are right not to give up hope.
Fingers crossed the sighting might be of her.

fenneltea · 14/10/2018 20:49

Hope it's her Harlexx and you get her home soon\1

DiveBombingSeagull · 14/10/2018 22:31

Hope she is home soon. I can't imagine what the torture is like of not knowing.

CatchingBabies · 15/10/2018 02:12

I hope you find her, can’t imagine how you’re feeling. My babies don’t go further than my cat proofed garden as I’m so scared they won’t come one day.
