Fussy Cats

Wondering if anyone else has the same problem. I have 2 cats who for several years were brought up on dried cat food, the odd tin of wet food as a treat. I had an elderly neighbour who they used to visit which I was ok with as she was lonely and she used to feed them sachets. So they were similar to 6 Dinner Sid. Fast forward a few years and as a result of them developing such a love of wet food I have had to comply with their dietary wishes, with dried food always being available. My issue now is that whatever brand of sachets or tinned food I purchase they lick the jelly or gravy and leave the rest, possibly eating a little of the meat. Also they may enjoy something the once then the following meal completely turn their noses up at it in disgust and stomp off. It is driving me to distraction as I am at a loss of what to try next! The amount of waste is terrible and I am concerned about one of the cats as he is rather elderly and appears to be losing weight. Whilst it is natural to lose weight as they age he howls for food then turns up his nose at what he is offered or simply licks the sauce. I used to be of the thought that they would rather eat than starve but that does not seem to be the case. In desperation this week I even purchased a tin of salmon spread which did not go down that well either? I seem to have tried ever brand known to man!

Also gave a fussy little dictator. Once we tried to feed him on Aldi own brand, thinking he would eat it if he was hungry.

This led to a stand off which ended when he presented us with a decapitated mouse, obviously warning us he was prepared to self cater.
