Tracking a cat - anyone ever done it??

Hi, our stupid, gorgeous, shaggy Maine Coone boy has a strop on at the moment as he has a new ginger family member.

Consequently - he goes walkabout! My husband (who has asked me to ask mumsnet wisdom) worries and frets 🙄. So he's been browsing the internet looking at cat trackers and wonders if any of you have ever used one? Could you recommend one?

The wanderer returned this morning, covered in sticky buds and strolled up on to the bed, insisted on half a pack of dreamies and has buggered off again. Honestly, he's a liability!

Are you sure it's actually your cat and you are not another one if Obie's wives? (Obie is an enormous Maine coone, who has at lest six wives and spends all his time with them. See previous threads!!)

No idea about tracking as mine are indoor cats.

Yes I had two pawtrax halo collars...had, as they have both been lost thanks to the cats ditching the collars.

Whilst we had them working it was fascinating to see where they went and for how long etc but a bit too expensive to have to keep replacing.

Is this what your boy looks like #Teatimeplease?? He is home. He is still cross as the new ginger kitten. I will look in to tracking collars (sorry can't see your username). We have our suspicions as to where he is spending his time - not far from us - but they deny it. The collar would be to prove or disprove our suspicions.

I do wonder sometimes.... how many homes think they own this beast of a cat??
