How to discourage a cat from hanging around?

Reposting from Pets as I didn't realise there was a topic just for cats!

We've recently moved into a new house with our cat who we think is about 8 years old (she was a rescue). The first few days we saw another cat around the house now and again, but ours didn't catch sight of it which we were pleased about, she's not very friendly towards other cats!

But the last week or so this cat has been hanging around our house CONSTANTLY, every time you look up it's sat outside the patio doors, or on a windowsill, on the garage roof, etc, looking for ours. If you chase it away from the front of the house it's at the back a few minutes later, and this goes on from about 7am till 10pm every day, barring a few stints where I'm assuming it goes home for food and a kip. Whenever our cat sees it she goes mad hissing and hitting the windows. It's scaring the kids and it isn't doing her any good either, she's really anxious and twitchy waiting for this other cat to show back up.

It's definitely too well looked after to be a stray, otherwise, I'd be trying to get it to the shelter, I think it's just a neighbourhood cat that's enjoying the sport of winding mine up.

Are there any humane methods I can use to try and keep this cat away from my house, that won't affect ours?

Aw it’s probably used to sleeping on that garage. What happens if yours is outside? Can’t uou let her out when she stars hissing. I’m probably mean I just let mine deal with it and there’s not been any fights as far as I can tell.
