I think we broke the cat.....

We have just (late Monday night) returned home from a week away.

While we were away our usual Catsitter came in twice a day to feed and play with our 4 year old rescue cats, but this is the longest we've left them so far (we've had them 18 months)

Girl cat is fine, a bit stand offish when we first walked in but back to normal by Tuesday morning, but I think we broke boy cat 😳

Since we got back he has been super clingy and won't let us leave his sight - he just follows us around and tries to sit on us the moment we stop. We've had to have the bedroom door open or he just scratches and cries outside, so for the past two nights he has slept on me (or sat on the bedside table staring at me from a couple of inches away - very disconcerting when you wake up) If he goes outside he runs in every 10 minutes or so shouting and shouting at me until I give him a cuddle, I can't even go to the loo in peace - in all my years of cat ownership I've not experienced one like this (I'm more used to being snubbed for a few days 😂) Has anyone else??

My cat behaves like this at all times, she's worse than the children. I can't go to the toilet in peace, I can't turn over at night, because I'm likely to roll onto her, because she has to sleep touching me, she likes to hold my hand alllll night long! I trip over her at least twice a day, because she won't be far from under my feet!

Oh, and I HAVE to go to bed at 10pm, she sits staring at me if I dare stay up any later!

I'd just say enjoy it

Cheddar is very clingy when I've been on nights. But I've only done four since getting her. So she's not used to it yet.

@Malibucyprus well he hadn't given us a bedtime yet so I should probably be happy with that 😆

My cat is unbelievably clingy. He's actually tried to sit on my lap before whilst I'm having a wee Can't ho far without him. I've tried to encourage I'm with going out and he'll sometimes sit in the garden when the weather is nice but tends to want to chill with me. OH has had cats all his life and has never met one like this cuddle bum

Actually don't know what he'll be like when we go away dare to think about it. My mum doesn't live far she might have to come cuddle him for a week
