Applaws wet food - wow!

My cats have been eating James Wellbeloved wet food for a while now, which has been great. However, over the past few weeks they've become a bit bored with it, so I decided to try something new.

I've just bought them some Applaws tuna and sea bream wet food pouches as a trial and they absolutely love them. They enthusiastically finish the whole bowl in one go (unlike the James Wellbeloved, where they'd pick at it over a couple of hours) and then lick the entire bowl clean afterwards. I've never seen them enjoy their food so much.

The Applaws seems like fantastic quality stuff and smells amazing (I was almost tempted myself ) but it's also very expensive. Also the food pouches are only 70g, which seems very small.

Does anyone else's cats eat Applaws wet (or dry) food and how have you found it? I'm thinking of trying some of the other flavours once they've finished the fish!

Mine went off the dry Applaws, sorry. But took a few years.
Keep in mind the cats may love the new food for a while but go off it later. They seem to get bored (?)

Is the wet just complementary? Make sure they are eating fully charged dry food. Sainsbury’s do their own version which is complete you can buy individual sachets to try? It’s a lot cheaper!

You have to be careful with applaws as most (maybe all) is just complementary food not complete.

On Zooplus I can't find any Applaws dry food that doesn't say "complete"

The Applaws wet foods all seem to say supplementary on Zooplus.

I've recently bought some Applaws senior wet food which is complete (comes in small tins):

My cat absolutely loves it.

It’s strange isn’t it that all their dry in complete but not the wet.

OP do try the sachets in Sainsbury’s if they like that real meat/fish consistency

Thrive is also quite similar and it's complete. Alternatively Hi Life is a bit cheaper and quite similar, at least the tuna ones...

I don't understand why all cat foods aren't made complete. Frustrating.

And expensive. I buy mine the Schesir off Zooplus it’s £5 for six. I can only give the. It as a treat as it’s complementary and expensive! Will a tin of tuna be the same thing? I’m wondering if it’s cheaper to buy Asda’s own tuna.

My two are on Aplaws ,not quite treating it the way they used to - like crack addicts . So now on Encore .

Am I not feeding them correctly ? They also have Hills Science plan .

@peridito a complete food is one that has all the nutrients the cat needs. Fish in jelly is good for a treat but it shouldn't be the cat's only food.

OP Mine eat mostly wet and have applaws dry as a bedtime treat - it's like cat crack!

I'm really .Mine ate only dried until a couple of years ago when hiding tablets introduced wet food .

I really stupidly thought that as Applaws was so expensive it must be better . I had no idea .

They also have Hill's Science Plan Mature Cat 7+ Active Longevity but googling hasn't reassured me that this is complete and one of them doesn't eat much of it .

Will talk to vet I think ,but grateful for all help to prevent me from continuing on this road of cat neglect !
