The cat shat on the mat

Ok, it was actually the bed but that was too good a rhyme not to do! We recently (4 weeks ago) got a third cat. She’s 9 and was my cat when I lived at home. My parents recently moved to a tiny house and so I said I would take her rather than have them tripping over two cats and a dog. She’s mostly fine apart from the odd hiss at the other cats. She’s been using the litter tray and generally stays upstairs (she was an outside cat before and although we keep the cat flap open, she hasn’t been out)
Today I came home and she had pooped on the bed. There’s two clean litter trays upstairs, one in the bedroom. Any idea why she would suddenly do this? How can I stop her from doing it again?

Is she marking her territory, I'd take the tray out of the bedroom, can it go in the bathroom or hall and keep the door shut. Did something spook her, the weather or one of the other cats.
