Lost my old boy yesterday

He was 17 and got poorly quite quickly. Kindest thing was to let him go. The house feels so empty without him and I keep finding the odd toy around. It's horrible.

So sorry Mabel :( it's so heartbreaking. 17 is such a god age and he must have had such a long and happy life with you.

Our girl went missing 7 weeks ago, we are just starting to come round to the idea that she isn't coming home now. We feel absolutely lost without her so I really do know how you feel x Thanks

Lost another to kidney disease a few months ago and another went missing a month ago. From 3 cats to none in such a short time. They all had a cushty life with me. B cat spent his last morning eating chicken breast and having lots of love. House feels so empty.

I am so sorry. Its so so awful, I hated it when my old girl went aged 18, the house just didn't feel right. You gave your boy a wonderful long life filled with love, lucky cat. RIP dear pussThanks

Sorry for your loss MabelfaceFlowers. It sounds like your cats did indeed have cushty lives with a wonderful owner.

Thank you. At some point in the future, I'm going to look at getting a rescue cat, one who's been looking for a home for a long time. Not yet though. This furry beasties really do steal your heart.

Sorry for your loss OP and losing the other two so relatively quickly too. They really do fill our lives and we never quite realise how much til they’re gone. Flowers
A rescue cat is a wonderful idea, until then take care of yourself.

It's awful. My girl was only 7/8. I've got another cat who is the total opposite of her but I still miss her. It's very bittersweet when her almost identical sister does things that she used to do. ThanksThanks

When the time is right - I wholeheartedly agree.
Our cats are getting on and they are DH's first ever pets. He's stressing that he won't love others as much when they go. I, on the other hand, have had cats and dogs all my life and have loved each and every one of them to bits - all be it in different ways.
It's dreadfully sad when a much-loved pet and member of the family passes away - they cannot be replaced, nor should they be, but the capacity of our love is limitless and past, present and future pets bring so much joy.

I am so sorry, it’s a horrible experience and the worst part of owning a pet. Take comfort in the long and loving life your little kitty had with you. X

I'm very sorry. They do leave a big hole and it is the worst thing about having pets. 17 is a wonderful age Flowers
