Cat has spots and stripes? (Pics)

We got our lovely dsh girl in July and now her hair's grown back she has spots as well as stripes. Is this possible? I've never had a tabby before but I thought they just had stripes Or maybe they all have both but I've never noticed?

I’ve seen cats with all sorts of markings but am not sure if tabby means just stripes?

Aw - she's gorgeous! Yes, I've seen those markings before - tabbies can be anything. My old brown tabby had spots and stripes too.

My tabby has spots and stripes. Her mum was half Bengal so I assume that's where it comes from. I think it's quite common.

Our girl is such a sweetie and so chilled out, although she is bringing home an average of 3 mice per day atm. I'm hoping the excitement wears off as she settles in further

Yep we have Savannah's and they have spots and stripes, bengals are similar

Thanks Toddler! We went to see her without seeing a proper photo based on the personality her fosterer described and we were amazed by how pretty she was. Really no idea why she was unwanted.

Paddler I hadn't heard of Savannahs and just googled them and Bengals and now wonder if she has some other breed mixed in?

Savannahs are still fairly uncommon in the UK, bengals are a little more common so defo a possibility - she is gorgeous

We have a tabby with spots and stripes too. Def has a bit of Bengal in him Your cat is gorgeous

She is very pretty. We had a tabby a number of years back who had stripes on his back and spots on his belly.

She is so beautiful! One of my neighbours has 2 Bengals and her markings remind me of one of them.

Theres an old tabby at the top of our road who is stripey and spotty.

Lol always they are my little fur baby's , they are brother but very different personality wise, Theo or Mr T is now a Tripawd after being caught in an animal trap earlier this year (would insert crying emoji here if I could find one) and milo is just a giant weighing in at around 7.5kgs!

Aw what a lovely wee pussy cat, I can just tell she’s a good mouser too. My big boy is striped and spotty, except ginger and white. His vet says he definitely has a bit of pedigree in him because of his markings. And he absolutely isn’t just humouring his owner. He definitely doesn’t tell every cat over that they have the best looking cat they’ve seen in a while

MrsLucas she's not symmetrical. Not the best pics but hopefully you can see what I mean. She tends more towards spots on one side and stripes and swirls on the other.

My little dude (on the right) has very similar markings! I'm biased but I think it's a gorgeous feature.
