old cats - twitching a lot/shaking

Do old cats get lots of twitches/sort of shaking (in this case head) like old people sometimes do - not all the time but I think something not happening before but maybe I have just not noticed it - is it just "getting old" or can it be a sign of something more sinister. Thanks.

It can be a symptom of kidney disease in particular and some other conditions too so worth checking with vet's.

It can also be a symptom of hyperthyroidism, my girl used to do it when her hyperthyroidism wasn't under control - she had it a while. Get your little one checked by a vet asap, a simple blood test will confirm hyperthyroidism and could well be a good pointed towards kidney disease suggestion before. The first can easily be supported, the second you could extend life by support and keep more comfortable.

Hi also hypo (as in diabetes) can show as shakes. Blood test to check, good luck.

My last old boy who was PTS last year, did this sometimes. He was a regular at the vets and all of his ailments were being monitored and he was on meds for hyperthyroidism. His little shakes were just part of his old age.
