Spayed kitten won't keep her cone on!

Yesterday my kitten was spayed and it all went well. Once we got her out of her carrier at home, she legged it and took her cone off less than 5 minutes of being home. I put it back on later but I realised it's too big. I could put it back on without changing the straps and i could fit three fingers and more so it's definitely much too big.

We've been told that she 'must' keep it on until her wound check next Wednesday but how do I do that? She's not licked it much, she mostly licks the shaved area rather than the stitches but still there's that chance.

Plus how is she so hyper after surgery? I was warned she'd be sleepy and lethargic but clearly not

When my kitten was done they gave us one of those medical baby grow things and it was far too bloody big and she had it off within the hour!

We then tried one of those inflatable neck ones and she still managed to get out of it so in the end we just left her without otherwise she was bound to hurt herself while she struggled to get anything off.

She never went near her incisions though so we just left her without anything on and all was ok.

Haha they said the same to me too and how she would be off her food also and she was the complete opposite!

If I make her have it on then she's constantly falling over seeing as she can't see much. I think.. I'll leave it off until the day I take her to vets and she gets into the carrier

She was high as a kite last night!
