Cat and tortoise?

We're thinking of getting a cat again, our last cat died about 4 years ago.
But we now have a pet tortoise. It's only small, about the size of my hand, and it often wanders around on the floor.
Do you think a cat would chase a tortoise and annoy it? I half think it would and I half think the tortoise will be too slow for the cat to bother with.

The only cat and tortoise that I know who live together, the tortoise chases the cat.

Hmm, well at least the cat could choose to get out of the way if it happened that way round....

That must be one slow cat!

My mom has a tortoise.
One of her now deceased cats was sitting in the garden with its back to the tortoise trundling towards it. Tortoise ploughs into the cat. Cat leaps about three foot into the air...Grin
