Best litter to use?

Can anyone recommend the best litter for masking poo odours?

2 kittens, been using cats best on the breeders recommendation, whilst its great for absorbency and urine smells, its rubbish at masking the poo smells at all.

I use intersand classic. Two indoor cats. It gets scooped in the morning and changed once a month.

Thanks, how does it handle poo smells? I scoop out twice a day (3 on weekends), do you buy online?

There are no smells. I have mine in the kitchen as there is no room elsewhere. My friend who is very funny about smells also uses it.

Cats Best has always been fab for me, but maybe your kittens aren’t properly covering their poos yet as they’re young? Personally I would stick with it as the advantages of being able to flush it far outweigh any smell issues imo. Litter you have to throw away is a PITA.

I recently switched to a hooded litter tray - and it has made a big difference on the smell front!

I got a curver one - looks nice too

I loved my top entry box. Unfortunately new cat has no idea what to do with it.

I'm using Sainsbury's door control which does a good job with poo smells. I'm thinking of switching to clumping litter though so I can also take out the wee.

Odour control. :)

Thanks for the suggestions, I've had intersand delivered today to try it out. Also bought the bob martin litter freshening powder which seems to help a bit, I think the main problem is actually as toomuchappyland suggests, younger kitty is not burying her mess very well (11 weeks old).

I do have a hooded litter box as I thought that would help with smells.

I have just started using this from pet planet. So far its brilliant and the cats dont seem to get it everywhere either!

I've been using the pets at home silica one, we used to use the clay clumping one but switched because the silica is lighter to carry, they had run out recently so bought the clay and the smell is horrendous. And it looks like they've discontinued the silica because it's not on their website.

Switched to Intersand classic last night, both kittens were sniffing around and digging in it straight away, both used the new litter fine and my girl has actually been making an attempt to bury her mess, I can definitely see the difference in odour control already as I hadn't realised it was soiled until I checked and scooped through late last night.
