Anyone had two male kittens?

Just wondered if anyone has had two male kittens? If so, did they get on okay together or did they fight? Was one more territorial? Were they home loving/human loving?

We had a boy and a girl before who seemed to just tolerate eachother. She was indoors and loving, he was independent and only really became a softie in old age. Just wondering what two males could be like longterm.

Yes - in over 30 years of cat ownershio I've done this three times and the cats have always got on well - my previous pair were completely inseparable. Have 7 month old boy litter mates at the moment - getting on very well.
All the male cats I've had have been affectionate & cuddly. The girl cats I've had have been more restrained and never got on with their siblings as well.

I've got 2 males who are brothers (got them as 8 week old kittens) They get on great even if there is a bit of chasing and play fighting at times. They will sleep beside each other and do mutual grooming. They do have different personalities - 1 is more timid whereas the other is a bit cheeky but we still love the both of them

We have 2 brothers from the same litter. They are incredibly affectionate and don't fight with each other. They played a lot as kittens, but they're both 7 now and we have the occasional chase around the house, but they've both mellowed with age.

I'm going to echo the above owners. We have 2 boy tabbies - 3 year old brothers and they are such good buddies - they genuinely seem to love each other.

I have 2 brothers and they're fine. I have had them done though so that could be a factor. They sometimes argue and sleep at separate ends of the cat bed but usually sleep curled up together and don't mind sharing food or treats. They also fight other cats for each other. I've nicknamed them the krays

The kitten process was the toughest part but as soon as they could go and play out they were fine, as they burnt their energy off outside instead of annoying me.

We had two boys and they where lovely together, really affectionate and always together, got two girls a couple of years ago and they hate each other, always lashing out at each other and never sit in the same room

They'll be fine - make sure you get them neutered as soon as you can though as that'll stop them fighting for the territory.

I've currently got a 1yo boy and a 3yo boy. They adore each other!

When I got the now 1yo he was only 6 weeks old (mum rejected her kittens) and he was terrified of the other one but it took 2 weeks max for them to be best friends.

They do scrap with each other but it's play fighting. They also wash each other and sometimes they make DD and I collapse in quivering heaps of "awwww" by cuddling up with each other to sleep.

Yes numerous times and never had a problem. I currently have two ginger brothers. They love to groom each other but they taper very different personalities. One is very much an outdoor cat and the other loves to be inside.

Thanks for your replies. The little guys in question are through an animal charity and we're going around to see them tonight. Apparently there are actually three to choose from (choosing 2 out of 3, I had to do that last night and it's so.. hard) and all get on equally. They're roughly 50/50 black and white but I don't mind as my last two were the same and I loved them to bits. Wish us luck.

Have to say, I'd love all three but two is DH's limit. Also, we had our last two well into old age and they became quite expensive with a vet's trip every couple over months over two years and fussy eating, so have to be realistic about costs.

We had 3 brothers from a rescue, still have 2 as unfortunately one died unexpectedly last year, they were all lovely together (And the remaining 2 still are). You can't split them up OP! You won't notice an extra one!

I have 2 tabby brothers. They are 6 and still curl up together, groom each other and just love each other!!
One loves our ddogs and the other doesn't. Poor ddog2 gets confused and a batted nose for her kissing efforts!!

I may not have mentioned that when I got the two brothers above I also got their sister. DW was insistent beforehand that we were only get two kittens - however once we got there...

I remember years ago accompanying the head of the rescue to deliver 'two' kittens to a family. Only there were three kittens. So she took them all into the house and asked the children to choose which one they should send back to live in a cage, all alone, without its siblings, crying ....

Unsurprisingly they decided to keep all three, which I thought was genius, if a little underhand ...

I have 4. They play together. They groom each other.

We watch them sometimes and swear they are playing hide and seek.

Definitely get all 3. You might be separating best mates.

I had two males from the same litter. They were the absolute best of friends, slept together, washed each other etc, the whole of their lives. The vet warned me that they might have conflict in adolescence but it never happened. One of them died a year ago and his brother pined so much that I got him a little friend. If ever I am catless again I will get two males I think.

Oh and we had to leave one when I got the two. I wish we had taken all three!
