Bald patch and scabs on back

My 11 year old girl tabby has a large bald patch with scabs in the centre of her bag. She goes out, not much though. She doesn't have fleas. Any ideas before we take her to the vet?

Some sort of allergy I would have thought. Are you certain it's not fleas?

Yes, we treat her with stronghold and have brushed her.

Ringworm? It's a fungal infection and is catching. Vet treatment required.
