Anyone rehomed from Cats Protection?

If you've rehomed a cat or kitten from Cats Protection, how long did they take to come back to you after you first enquired. Also, how long did the process take? Any advice?

We've just enquired about two kittens. I'm guessing they'll be a lot of interest, so I guess they could take longer to decide who to start the process with as they'll have lots of possible applicants.

Have recently applied to cats protection for a lovely three legged boy,who we could have given a calm, quiet home to.We have always had cats, long living ones too, but CP however, don't think we are good enough. Does anyone else wonder if anyone ever gets to actually get a paws from them or do they really exist. Its strange because on the local wesite theres not even an address!

Our boy came from CP last year. It was very quick (we’d very recently lost our previous girl to cancer and I didn’t expect it all to move so fast). I saw him on the website on Saturday night, filled out the form, and had a call at 8.30am on Sunday! I did a “video tour” of the house, then went to meet him in foster care the following Wednesday. He was delivered here in a CP van on the Friday evening.

My DP was away with work, and before he left he said something on the lines of he expected to come back and me have moved a new cat in. He was joking (and obviously we did discuss it and he was happy to go ahead) but that was actually what happened. By the time he came home we were past the hiding and hissing stage, so all good!

Here he is. He’s two next week and a very good boy.

Still haven't heard back from them after more than two weeks.Obviously a rural home in a safe quiet village with just two older cat-experienced people is just no match for any of their cats. Probably should have lied and told them we have 18 kids and live in a 2 bed house by a main road in a rough area, must be what they want to hear.Am beyond sad,but will be going elsewhere for a paws now. Thought it must be just the CP in the area I live, but the reviews I have read so far have been scathing.

Where are you based? I had success with Celia Hammond in Lewisham.

If it's a CP branch, they are purely volunteer run and some are really struggling at the moment. Those volunteers will have jobs alongside this so they can take a while to respond.
The cat centres (formerly homing or adoption centres) will have staff responding so they would respond quicker, not necessarily speedy as some days are relentless.
