Sudden refusal of regular food

My 5 y/o Cat has been on royal canin gastro wet and dry food for 10 months now (this is what was recommended by vet after numerous D&V episodes requiring regular trips to vets!) worked well and no need to visit since on it.
Last two weeks she will not touch the wet food, I’ve tries putting out fresh bowls more often incase it goes off quicker with the heat, I’ve tried leaving it longer until she’s def hungry with no luck.
She a small cat anyway (3kg) and if she doesn’t eat gets super skinny.
She’s definitely hungry as She will eat nature’s menu/similar quality food that I’ve been out to buy and tempt her with but within a day her poo is more runny and smells awful Hmm
She will also eat ‘cheap’ cat food which doesn’t tend to have the same effect but I’m worried about giving her low quality food with low meat content!
Literally no idea what to do, is it better just to give her cheaper food so she’s at least eating??

Have you tried a different flavour of her canin wet, I'd go with the cheapo if that's what her current taste is, don't throw the canin away, she might change her mind again soon.

Royal canin hasn't got that great a meat content anyway. I'd give the stuff that they will eat that doesn't cause issues

I'd go with the cheap food if it doesn't cause any problems. When Harry refused a renal diet the vet told me it was more important that he ate.

Thank for replies! Smile

Yeah I did see that royal canin wasnt high in meat but as vet recommended we went with it.

I’ll pop out and buy some of the cheap stuff she likes in the morning and try her again on royal canin in a few days.

Harry has Natures Menu but every one and then he goes off it. When he does we give him James Wellbeloved dry for a few days and then he'll eat the NM again. I presume he gets bored, but it's not my fault he'll only eat one flavour!
