Holiday and flea treatment - do it early?

Sorry slightly boring but -
We're off on holiday on the 7th and cats would be due their flea treatment on the 12th. Do you think its OK to apply it 5 days early? Really don't want to come back to a flea infestation!
(Been there before, not niceEnvyAngry)

Yes you can. Used to work in the vets and dispense flea treatment and for infestations we would suggest every two weeks so will not hurt to do early.
