Anybody got good tips about catstress?

I have a little bugger of a cat who has been determined to be outside since I got him. Climbed out windows into the garden when 3 months old - we kept him in til jabs and snip but he just wants out. He's 2. Previous boy was very placid, didn't go further than neighbours garden so didn't stay out for hours.
As a result the cat is out for hours and I get really worried. He's disappeared for a few days before but reappeared, he has come home eventually otherwise but I can't help being stressed when he's out for ages. He gets fed at 10 so normally doesn't stay out all night.

Even considering taking him to cat home as I find it really hard to be his owner. Would he be better off with people who don't worry so much? How do the rest of you deal with this, please?

Everything you’ve described sounds like perfectly normal cat behaviour. I’ve had cats that have refused to go outdoors at all and cats that regularly disappear for days at a time. Just because your previous cat was a homebody doesn’t mean that all cats are, and if he’s usually back for dinner then it’s not something to worry about. I think the issue here is your anxiety and not the cat who is just doing what comes naturally. I hope you’re not serious about rehoming him Sad Are you getting any help with your anxiety?
