Biting kitten

Kitten been home for a week now and seems to always want to bite. He’s sociable. Seeks interactions with humans. Will sometimes curl up and sleep on a lap. Very playful with balls etc but mostly wants to bite constantly. He’s even purring as he does it.

How do I stop him. I don’t want a bitey cat. I put him on the floor but he usually just starts again

It's normal behaviour for young animals. When he does it, play with a toy with him (one of those feathery things on a stick). NEVER punish him though

It's what they do. You just have to distract them and squeak like another kitten would when they're being hurt to let them know it's too much.

Yeowww catnip filled toys are good for biters. Mine loves the Pollock.

Thanks. Will invest in some catnip then. He’s curled up sleeping on my knee currently and soooo cute

If mine bit I put her down and firmly said no and praised the good stuff. If that only worked with children
