Just moved, when should I let my cats out?

Hi all

We have two cats, they have always been indoor cats (4 and 2 years old) we moved into our house a year ago and moved back out after three weeks as we ended up having to have loads of building work.

Anyway we are back in now, the cats seem super curious about outside. When can I let them out? The are lounging around on their backs and look as happy as they did in our flat.

They've never been out before, I know the usual advice is two weeks but given that we were here for three weeks about a year ago does that count? Or should I restart the two weeks again??

Ideally wait at least a month, and then start with supervised outside outdoor time. Just before meal times is best so you can get them back in with food.

Only ever let them out at the back of the house, and get a catflap so they can get back in at any time.
