Hi all,

My beautiful baby has been poorly since Thursday evening I took her to the vet Friday where they said she had a really high temp & was given an antibiotic injection, which should have perked her up. Sadly it didn't work & she had to go back to the emergency vet yesterday, where they kept her in for fluids & blood tests. I had a call early hours this morning to say they thought she had a mouth absess & asked to sedate her 😢 I'm still waiting for another update.

She's only a year old so is insured & has never been ill before. Im not too sure on how to go about claiming on the insurance as this will all cost a pretty penny. Can anyone advise please? Do I wait till all sorted or do I need to notify the insurance company now? I've got a claim form in my pack so plan on taking this with me to the vets, if I can pick up my baby today, fingers crossed, so hopefully the vet will help. But any guidance greatly received. Thank you

In my case the vet claimed on my behalf, could this be an option?

Yes. Fill in the claim form and take it in when she's discharged. If the vet is happy to claim on your behalf then leave it to them. You may have to pay a small fee for it. If you pay up front it's up to you when to claim. I'm with Tesco and you just tick the continuing claim box if there are further claims for the same problem.

Thank you both. I'll take with me & see what they say. They did mention something about doing the claim if it goes above a certain amount but tbh I can't remember too much as was upset about leaving her there 😢
