Not sure if she’s rolled in something or just old and smelly but sheesh- nasty pong. Any tips? Otherwise coming for cuddles and eating and drinking- cuddles I’m spurning a bit ...

Hello,
First you need to identify where the smell is coming from: coat, ears, mouth or bum.
My elderly cat (20 years old) sometimes smells a bit musty because she sleeps most of the time, so I started changing her bedding more often.
She does have really bad breath too but you can't smell it unless she opens her mouth.
I occasionally give her a sink bath by filling several jugs with lukewarm water and then lather her in cat shampoo. I find that refreshes her. Could that be an option? What kind of smell is it?

What sort of smell

Aprilshouldhavebeenmyname · 13/07/2018 11:18

Doggy wet wipes??

If it's coming from her back end then it could be the anal glands, possibly from constipation.

Smells like her fur and almost like a wet dog/horse / manure smell. I’ve wet wiped her. She is weeing and pooping and eating
Will go to pets at home and check for wipes as currently using toddler toilet wipes but she doesn’t seem to mind. Bedding smells so will get her a fresh blanket as opposed to her Hello Fresh blanket which she loves- wool from packaging on a delivery!
