Surprise birth!!

Last night at just before 1am our youngest cat (just turned one) gave birth to one beautiful little kitten. Complete surprise as she has only ever left the house once and there were absolutely no signs whatsoever at her being pregnant.

I've felt mum's tummy and there's definitely no more in there. She's been cleaning and feeding like a superstar. But my, what a shock!

Surprise birth!!

Awwww how cute!!!!! Congrats mummy kitty 😬 maybe a trip to the vets just to make sure there's no more in there haha! I'm not an expert but I think it's very unusual to just have one kitten isn't it? Xx

Fluffycloudland77 · 11/07/2018 17:42

I'd get her down the vet to be spayed, un spayed females go mental after a few years.

UpTheBumNoBabies · 11/07/2018 17:55

Fluffy she was booked in to be spayed next week 😂

Thanks knicker, just rang them up and they've said to nip down with them both.

That is one purrrfect kitten!!

KellyBailey · 11/07/2018 17:59

Aww, looks like kitten is female with that colouring. Lucky in a way that there's only one, are you going to keep her. Please do get mum spayed as soon as the vet thinks is safe post birth though, one year seems very young to have a kitten, she's just a kitten herself.

UpTheBumNoBabies · 11/07/2018 18:02

Yes we are definitely keeping her. We have mum's mum too.

She will be spayed as soon as is possible. She is a house cat who has only ever been out once 🙈

Very cute! But never exactly a surprise if an unspayed female cat has been outside... Please do get mum spayed ASAP, and don't let the kitten out until she is spayed herself (anytime from 4-6 months old).

WichBitchHarpyTerfThatsMe · 11/07/2018 18:07

Congratulations OP, I think that makes you a great grandmother!

AWomanIsAnAdultHumanFemale · 11/07/2018 18:16

Ooh! I’ve never heard of a cat having just one kitten! How nice they can just love each other rather than mum being tortured for milk constantly by a whole litter.

itsBritneyBeach · 11/07/2018 18:17

Three generations of kitties Shock I love it! So cute

moonbells · 11/07/2018 18:21

oh she looks just like a little tiger! Cutie!

Mooncat is a white tortie too but with blocks rather than stripes but I love the colouring... (Mooncat was rescued by CP together with six kittens so I reckon one is much easier for your surprise mummy cat). Congrats all round.

Papergirl1968 · 11/07/2018 20:29

Sweet! Dcat was an only kitten. I heard it’s more common for young mums to have only one.

ImAGoofyGoober · 11/07/2018 21:10

How cute! So glad she is staying with mummy and grandma too.

Make sure she is spayed now though!

BackToTheFuschia7 · 12/07/2018 15:45

Hopefully she hasn’t caught any infectious diseases like feline aids when she was out. Please get both her and her kitten spayed before either of them go outside.

UpTheBumNoBabies · 12/07/2018 19:15

As said more than once, I will be getting her spayed! She was booked in to be done next week.

I'm not an irresponsible cat owner despite her managing to escape once.

Aww she's so cute. What are mum and nan's names?

NC4Now · 13/07/2018 16:34

That’s so cute, just one little kitty to live with her Mum and her nan. Adorable 😍
