Hello everyone! My cat ate a small mouse in the garden yesterday afternoon. I kept him in overnight as usual, came down this morning and let him into the garden - all seemed fine. About half an hour later, he walked back into the house with quite a bit of diarrhea over his fur and especially round his bum!
He's semi-longhaired too so it's created quite a mess.
I was unsure what to do so when DH came down, we got some damp cloths and both walked towards him in the garden. Obviously sensing something was unusual about this, he stood up and bolted over the fence into next door's garden, and now I can't see him. He's quite a nervous rescue cat and obviously realised something was up when he saw us approaching.
Now I'm panicking and wondering what to do - how can I clean him up? Do I need to wash him and if so, how can I get him to stand still while dabbing him with water? When he does come back should I take him to the vet? He seems ok apart from the diarrhea - he ate all his breakfast and was chasing flies in the garden earlier.
Help!
