Naming help?

Hello,
I lost my beloved cat on Saturday as he was hit by a car and sadly didn't make it. I was not expecting to get a kitten two days later! However this little boy lost his mummy cat a few days before I lost my cat, in the same sad way. He has been looking for her and getting more nervous so the lady wanted to find a new home for him away from the smells of his mum, as he was last of the litter, so I went to collect him. I can't come up with a name for him, all I can think of is my precious cat I lost and the other names that would have suit him. The kitten has settled and cuddled and slept on my lap within 15 minutes of being home, and seems very calm so I think it was the right choice for him. It just seemed like too much of a coincidence and that he 'belongs' with us. So does anyone have some name ideas for his timid, cuddly little boy?

Sorry to hear about your own cat, also your kitten's mum Flowers
He is absolutely beautiful! Looking at him - first name that came into my head was Mickey (as from the film "Mickey Blue Eyes").
Not going to suggest "Claude" - keeping that for my own kitten (or, "Claudette").Grin

I had a cat called Claude many years ago - great cat name.
Although he looks more like a Roger to me.

Oh he's gorgeous. I'm really sorry about your cat.

I've now got 'oh Mickey you're so fine' in my head now!

Sorry for your loss :-(

I think he looks like a Basil. Or maybe a Jasper

OnTopOfSpaghetti · 25/06/2018 19:42

Basil is a splendid name for a black and white boy cat (I have one of my own! And a Sybil to matchGrin)
However I think he looks a bit more like a Harry or a Charlie. Something a little bit cheeky about his face! What a cutie. Enjoy getting to know your new puss.

OnTopOfSpaghetti
I have a Basil and Sybil too Grin.
So more support for Basil here.

OnTopOfSpaghetti · 26/06/2018 17:36

@Grumpyoldpersonwithcats great name choiceGrin Actually it was DH who chose the names, I felt he needed some feeling of ownership over cats he would never actually choose to have in his life!GrinGrin Their names do rather suit them though, Basil is a but dim (but lovely) Sybil can be a bit bossy! One day we'll have to get a Manuel!

Tux because he looks like he's wearing one
