I've recently got a new kitten and not sure where the best place for his litter tray is.. where does everyone else keep theirs!? Also what litter do people use? I'm using the wood chips at the minute but they get everywhere!!

I keep mine in the utility room. We use the basic litter from Tesco - cats seem fine with it.

... it might help people give you the best advice if you include a photo of your new kitten, OP Wink.

In the bathroom.

In the bathroom. I used to always use clumping litter but recently changed to Bio-Catolet cat litter and am happy with it.

Tray is in the downstairs toilet as it has a recessed area with coats hung up and it fits in there a treat. We use a door stopper foam thing on the top to stop the door being shut and the cat being blocked from getting to it.
Used to have it in the kitchen, but that was not practical in the end. We use Catsan litter, the one that comes with liners, and a compact dustban & brush to get the loose bits that are flicked or dragged out (or hidden in their mysterious cat litter pocket and dropped randomly in the strangest places).

One upstairs in the bathroom and two in the lean-to / conservatory / utility. Supermarket clumping cat litter. We’ve had to get more trays as cats have got older. Bane of my life; I hate them, but I hate wees and poos in inappropriate places even more.

In the kitchen. Tucked away where a tumble dryer would go. No space anywhere else. It's a top entry one and completely covered.

Utility room. Sainsbury's clumping litter.

1 in the kitchen and 1 in the living room, unfortunately - one of mine won't pee anywhere else - but it is hidden and I have stone floor, so it's easy to clean any messConfused

In a wee corner of the dining room. He only uses it under extreme duress though so for about 7 months of the year its unused.

In the bathroom and I use "worlds best" cat litter from zooplus. I prefer the wood chip but my cats don't like it!

Alwayscommuting · 25/06/2018 17:29

My cats have theirs in their second bedroom. Their first bedroom houses their a double bed and food bowls.

EachandEveryone · 25/06/2018 21:38

Also top entry in the kitchen. I use Sainsburys Catsan rip off. A covered tray in my bedroom which started when i had builders in. This one has Worlds Best in it.

I have to admit im not convinced they are using both of them appart from to poo. One of them is literallt out all day. Do they hold it in all day does anyone know?
