Which cat is sick?

We have two cats (brother and sister) and one of them is regularly being sick in the night. Problem is I can’t work out which one it is or whether I should just take them both to the vets. Both seem ok in themselves so no obvious other symptoms. We had this last summer and the one (clumsy slightly stupid) cat loves to catch and eat moths so we presumed it was him being sick. Any ideas?

Could you get a spy camera and see if you can catch them on that?

The only thing I can suggest is to put one of them in a different room overnight, if possible?

When you say regularly, how often? Does one of them bolt their food, as that can cause it? The other thing to note is what kind of sick is it? A bit TMI, but digested or undigested food, moist food or biscuits, hairball, grass, any blood or particular smell, and so on.

Ps It could be both of them being sick on different nights. Taking it in turns, as it were!

It’d be difficult to put them in separate rooms as they share a litter tray at night.

Haven’t noticed either of them bolting food although boy cat generally has much bigger appetite than his sister. The sick is always the same - undigested wet food. Haven’t changed brand of food recently so don’t think it’s that either.

I might set up a kitty cam as it’s in or around the same spot most nights so I have a good chance of catching them!!

That can happen with ML if he bolts down wet food. Also sick if he eats too many biscuits at once, or has a hairball building up. He usually bolts his food if he's had to wait slightly longer than usual for it (oh the horror) or much longer, for example because of a vet visit or travelling back from holiday. I either feed half the usual amount of wet food, wait half an hour and feed the other half, or feed a pate, but mash up both with a fork and press it down onto the bowl surface, which slows down his eating a bit. He also has very few biscuits now. I think setting up a kittycam is a great idea. First find out who it is, then tackle it. If trying slowing down their eating doesn't help, then I'd try the vet to rule out a health problem.
