Late with vaccinations. What to do?

I missed the date for the annual jabs for my cat. Ashamed to say it's not the first time. Last time I had to give two sets of jabs. Is this really neccessary or is it a money making exercise from the people who make the vaccines? Does anyone know the answer to this? Thank you oh wise mumsnetters.

Last year my cats were 2 months late for their boosters, the vet still did it but said it's better to have it done within the year as apparently it's just more effective.

How late are you? I seem t remember my previous vet saying there wasn't a problem with being up to 2 months late.

viccat · 16/06/2018 18:38

There's about a 12 week window from the date when it's still ok but some vet's have slightly different rules.

Otherwise yes, you'll have to restart again with a course of 2 vaccinations.

Our vet said up to 3 months is ok.

I think about six weeks. Interesting the different advice people have been given. I think I was told about 2 weeks delay. I haven't rushed as once late I was going to do her at the same time as young cat ( then it will be twice as expensive when I make a mistake)

I think I will take her on Monday and just do one set. I don't want to put her at risk but it seems unnecessary to do a booster.

Six weeks over is fine! The annual booster is all she'll need. If your vet suggests otherwise I would look to change vets.
