Harry's won the battle

The battle of the food bowl that is. Since before Christmas he's only eat chicken and goose flavoured Country Hunter. For the last couple of weeks he's either been eating all his food or leaving a lot and last night he decided he wasn't eating anything. I tried him on something else he'd gone off in the past and he wasn't interested so just now I gave in an out down some biscuits and, guess what? He's been stuffing his face!

I need to get him back on wet food so he has his Ipakitine but at least he's eating.

How could I resist his little face?

I'm putty in his paws. He's gorgeous

rupertpenryswife · 14/06/2018 18:52

Do you mix wet and dry or does he only have wet, I give my girl both. Glad you are winning the battle though.

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 14/06/2018 18:57

My plan is he has wet for breakfast and dinner and biscuits for lunch and in the night if he's eaten his dinner. Harry's plan is he has biscuits for breakfast, lunch, dinner and supper. At the moment Harry is getting his way.

What makes you think I'm winning this?!? Grin

Do you ever win anything with Harry?

No you are a quite correct the only one who could win is of course the gorgeous Harry! I stand corrected, I think I forgot my role as a cat slave for a moment and promoted myself. As you were.

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 14/06/2018 20:56

I like to think that one day I'll win but I know it's not going to happen. I am his slave and he knows it. He only has to give me that 'look' and he's won!

He did eat a pouch of James Wellbeloved wet food that I found from last time he changed his mind but I don't know how long that will last. I need it find some better biscuits if he's going to be eating them.

@kissthealderman, he seems to be pretty good at the moment thankfully. He has got some whiskers missing and side of his face looks a bit sore but that's self inflicted. He gets food stuck in the gaps between his teeth as he's developed the delightful habit of rubbing the side if his face to dislodge the meat, which he then sometimes spits out! Other than that he's fine ant Petplan are breathing a sigh of relie! How's Dangercat?

That picture is from a few years ago but I still get that look! If I withhold the biscuits he just won't eat. That won't do him any good either as we were told to make sure he eats because of his kidneys. Perhaps the vets who tell me this would like to try living with him!

Glad Danger is doing ok and fingers crossed 2018 is a good year for him (and you)!

Here's some more recent pictures of him. He's not really supposed to sleep on the bottom sheet but we were going to change the bed.

Can I also say my pillow isn't normally yellow - I bruised my hand badly and I've been using arnica. No one told me it stains and I sleep with my hand under the pillow...

He's happy with the weather, providing the temperature is exactly to his liking, not too hot and not too cold!

They deserve good health and we deserve a stress free time! I'm sure I've aged 10 years since he broke his jaw 2 years ago!

Please don't flame me as I know it's not the done thing in MN, but the grass is artificial! We've got such a small garden (it's not much wider than what you can see) that it was a pain to cut the grass so DH laid artificial grass when we cat proofed. We were worried that Harry wouldn't like it but he loves it, probably because it's warm!

Ours was awful. It had sunk and there was hardly any grass, just a mass of weeds. We had to do something and decided the lower maintenance the better! I like the garden to look nice but I don't like gardening and I'm rubbish at keeping things alive. The tall thin plant in the picture is a hibiscus that DH dug up for me from Mum's garden after she died last year. Surprisingly it survived the move and appears to be thriving so I like to think she's giving me a helping hand!

His majesty is ok apart from a couple of coughing fits today. I worry every time it happens, but thankfully it seems to be less often than it was. I tell myself that as the vet wasn't worried I shouldn't be either but it's not easy! He's ok with the heat and he comes in if it's too much although the he does like to cook himself. Our living room doesn't get the sun at all so he's got somewhere cool to go.

I'm glad you're catering to Danger's requirements! Harry wants to know why I'm making him come inside for food!

Here he is this morning - I lied about the living room never getting any sun! He's making the most of it as it'll be gone soon.
