I am going to an open day today with the view to getting a second cat
We have a 4 year old boy that we rescued - found in garden with a broken leg. Our old lady cat (19) died at xmas. Boy cat has been quiet and subdued since she went. Old lady didn't like young boy much but he really liked her and never stopped trying to get her to play. He also had a friend next door who he liked to play with, but she was run over few months before old lady died.
Boy was around 6-9 months old when we found him. Old lady was around 2 years old when we got her. We've never had a proper kitten
Household are all adults - apart from 3 year old grandson who visits weekly but he has always been very good around cats and dogs - very calm, doesn't chase, waits for animal to come to him and very gentle.
Household all work but the home is rarely empty due to shifts.
We have plenty of space for both cats to be separate if needed and an enclosed, safe garden but we do live on a main road
So...
do we look for kitten or older
Boy or girl?
Going to open day with an open mind but it might be handy to have a small checklist
I'm thinking a female kitten
